I love the NuMetal amp, but it's a bit shrill. This patch makes use of that amp, but tweaks the tone so give more of a growl. I use it to play 80s-style metal. A hot humbucker and ridiculous volume are, of course, mandatory :) I do find that it sounds a bit better if I cut back on the volume on my guitar just a bit so it isn't too fizzy.
