I had a hard time trying to find something that sounds like him. all the live footage I have has bad sound (Live at fillmore east for example). This is a basic sound we can use, and add effects on it, like Wha and all the stuff he used to "hype" his sound!
I've done this preset with my Strat that has Kinman Woodstock pickups.
To go clean, just play with the volume knob of the guitar. Do this also to adjust the amount of gain when playing lead.
