This is a warm Jazz sound that reminds me of some of Kenny Burrell's stuff. I use a semi-hollow body Yamaha AES 1500 with Neck Humbucker set at Volume-7 Tone 5-6, but my solid body sounds pretty good with it also. The pick makes a lot of difference as does the picking force. A heavy nylon pick gives a darker sound while a lighter hard plastic is sharp and brighter. Picking hard gives a bit of a slap accent.
