I used a Les Paul Standard on bridge pickup; modelled on AC/DC's tone.
Aim for a slightly broken up clean sound, then whack up the master volume to overdrive the power amp. Adjust the volume to taste.
AC/DC used a clean crunch setting on a vintage Marshall amp. Low gain and lots of volume are the key. Go for an organic vintage overdrive, not a modern synthetic distortion. Use a heavy pick and hit the strings hard. For more sustain for lead playing, turn up the gain and then use your guitar's volume control to adjust the level of distortion.
