The best thing is to go into a music shop and try several out, preferably with your guitar and amp or at least the same kind. Wahs have different sounds and people have different preferences. In addition, they can feel different from each other due to the size, shape, pivot point, and friction of the pedal.
Some are user-adjustable, others aren't.
I had a Wah Face, got sick of it, got a Morley, liked that for a few years, great clear sound, but I wanted more range so I got a Boss PW-10 V-Wah, which, like the Valvetronix, is a modelling wah and imitates several brands, including Morley, Vox, Crybaby and others and is completely adjustable. It also has a Uni-vibe setting and several OD settings. It appears to have been discontinued but is likely still in stores - it is here in Canada.

would I be able to plug it into the input jack or would I have to do a effects loop mod?

Input jack should be fine - most people have their wahs first in their effects chain.

Mind you, I don't - I have mine after compression and OD/distortion, but before modulation effects. I wasn't happy with my wah sound at the front of the chain, so I read articles about effects order online and found some articles explaining exactly what I was hearing and not liking, and that was the solution, and it works for me. But I believe I and the people I was getting advice from are in the minority.

So effects loop mod might be better. Obviously, try the input jack first, if you like that, you're good to go.

Try it first with the amp in Manual mode and Bypass mode, so the wah is the only effect. If you like that, then dial in some of the effects you might like to combine with the wah and see if it still sounds OK. The problem I was hearing with the wah first, was that instead of a smooth sweep, which I heard without any other effects, once I added in some distortion or OD, the wah wasn't gradual anymore, it became more abrupt, almost like flipping a switch at times, and less effective. YMMV.

And definitely try different wahs - some may be more prone to the problem I was having than others - I don't really know. For all I know now, it's possible that the reason I ended up hating my first wah and getting rid of it, was that it was always first in the chain.
