Tonelab ST connect to VOX amp... how does it sounds?

Postby egnita » 14 Oct 2010, 11:51

Greetings to all, i'm new to this forum! :)

I'm in the process of buying a new amp and i'm considering also the Tonelab ST. I recently discovered how great the VOX amps sound (and look :)) and i'll try soon the Night Train, the AC4TVH and maybe the VR30R and the AC15VR. From what i've heard online the AC4TVH seems great and will possibly be the amp for me. But i'm worried about the high gain tones (metal, thrash, death metal) and that's why i want to buy the Tonelab ST.

My worry is how to connect this to a non loop amp like the AC4... It will have to be direct input. But how does it sounds? I will be running two preamp stages together, the high gain amp on the Tonelab in front of the clean sound of the AC4... Any users in here that use the Tonelab for metal tones in a non loop VOX amp (AC4, as i'm really digging it for clean and crunch sounds - or the AC30VR for versatility)? Have you got good results?

Thanks in advance :)
