hey, im glad to have found this website. very nice.
anyways, long story short, i have a thing now where ill be playing in an upstairs room once to twice a week and i dont want to have to carry my vox valvetronix ad50vt up there (plus they like you to direct into the pa since its a small stage and crowded, and for easier volume mixing) so im getting a multi effects processor. im on a limited budget though. i went to guitarcenter today and tried the digitech, pod and the vox se.
the vox clearly won, but the thing is they didnt have a tonelab se and the le is more in my price range, so im wondering, whats the differences between the se and le and what price range should i be expecting on a used le?
thanks

This review goes into the differences.

I guess the main ones going to the SE would be one expression pedal instead of two, more choices for output voicing, and 24-bit processing.
A used LE? Most places don't even have new ones yet.

oh, are they that new? i thought theyve been around.
and another question. it says something about external effects jacks. does that mean i could hook up external stompboxes like my clyde mccoy wah or distortion pedal?

They're pretty new, I've had one on backorder for months. You might find used, but not very cheap.
Better luck perhaps with an SE.

It has an effects loop which inserts just after the input, so it's pretty much the same as just putting them before the LE.

Problem with my Tonelab SE: I purchased it new about a year ago and it's been great until last night at a gig. Set it up as usual, powered up and I got primarily a "white noise" sound with a very low distorted guitar sound buried in the background. Sounded somewhat like an open ground but with lots of static. I did all the troubleshooting I could on stage, changed guitars and cables, changed power sources, eliminated wireless and other external devices, changed SE patches, adjusted SE output level but no change. Any thoughts?
