Tonelab SE + AD100VTH = What's the prob, bro?

Postby Mr. Madman » 14 Apr 2010, 18:12

Hi, to all!!
I found this site just a little time ago, and I can only say thanks!!
I've found lots of info on this site and now I need to some questions about my rig.

I bought a Tonelab SE two years ago and it was sounding really sweet with a Marshall VS100 until it died, so I decided to buy an AD100VTH + V412BK and here starts my headache.

I use a lot of patches from the Tonelab, because I use lot of sounds from combinations of amps and effects on different songs, but since I bought the AD100VTH I can't get the same sounds.

I'm trying to find a good clean sound to amplify the tonelab (and still consider one channel as a backup for my rig), but it's becoming a nightmare for me.

Can someone give me a hand?

Cheers!!

This query comes up time & time again & I'm afraid that the answer remains the same.

The simple advice is to not mix a modelling MFX unit with a modelling amp. You just get 'mush' & extra noise from conflicting amp models.

Either
1. keep the TLSE for use with a non-modelling amp or PA, or
2. get a non-modelling MFX for the AD100VTH or
3. just use the TLSE with the AD100VTH for FX only & turn off the amp and cab modelling.

You could put the TLSE through the FX return & just use the AD100VTH as a power amp, but you'll lose all EQ/effect/amp models from the AD100VTH, and what would be the point then of having it?

Rich

Wow!!! You've got me the answer!!!!

I mean, using the poweramp of the AD100VTH is enough for me in this case.

My first intention was to buy the amplifier, but as I couldn't find it I bought the Tonelab.

Now I have both, and I'm the happier man over the earth, but I'd rather use the Tonelab by the moment and maintain the amplifier as a backup....

I know, I'm strange, but you'd need to see a photo of my rig on the floor to tell me I'm Mad. hehehehehe

Thanks a lot Voxman!
