testing with meter

Postby bill rand » 21 Sep 2010, 14:25

Hi guys ive run into a problem with my epiphone dot, i get a loudish buzz when plugged in which disapears when i touch any thing metal on guitar and amp.Ive had the meter out and done a con check through all the metal parts of guitar , all good apart from strings, tuners and bridge to the rest of the circuit does this narrow it down to the earth wire from the bridge to one of the pots? i cant remember which pot it might be as i rewired it long ago with new switches pots and two 3 position toggle switches for coil tapping

You got it, the bridge ground is open (not connected) either at the pot or bridge.
