SoundEditor and ToneLab LE?

Postby LPSWR » 11 Nov 2007, 21:34

Does the SoundEditor work with the ToneLab LE?

I've tried two different USB to MIDI cables and two different computers and all I can get is the message "MIDI communication error occurred. Check the cables and MIDI interface" One of the cables I have used with the Fender G-DEC 30 so I know that cable works.

Thanks.

Have you tried swapping the midi connection. OUT goes to IN and IN goes to OUT. The opposite of what you might think.

Yes. Tried that too.

Let me ask this:

Which USB to MDI cables are known to be compatible with the ToneLab? The two I have tried are the EM-U XMidi1x1 and one from Turtle Beach.

I have the E-MU Xmidi1x1 and it works. I also have used gameport midi. My problem is SoundEditor's reluctance to open the MIDI Out port. If it opens the port then everything is fine. But it sometimes gets where it refuses to open MIDI out, even after a reboot. I've had zero problems with my GNX and Magicstomp wrt the MIDI.

I never get the MIDI communication error in this case. I always get an error saying something like "failed to open MIDI out".
