Something happening wirth JamVox?

UK prices have typically dropped to £99 - with Dolphin Music selling it for only £85

It dropped to $99 here in the States. I would guess it's because Fender introduced the new G-DEC 3 amps.
G&L SC-3, Ibanez RG550, Epi SG, Fender G-DEC 3 30, Vox AD60VTX w/ VC12, Carvin XV112, Line 6 JM4 Looper, Vox ToneLab, Cry Baby, Digitech RP1, BBESS, Danelectro 7-band EQ, EHX Hum Debugger, Janglebox and Bad Monkey.

Just checked the GDEC out on you-tube. Looks really cool! - gonna have to find one to try out myself.

I got one for my birthday back in June and love it (G-DEC 3 Thirty). :)

It won't replace my AD60VTX for gigging, due to electronic nature of dialing in tones, but is excellent for practicing with backing tracks and midi. Also kept me from going crazy while my AD60VTX was in the shop from June until late August! :(

Have fun!
Bob

Bob, how does amp model quality, overall tone, & volume compare with your AD60VTX? I realise the speaker is only 10", but is it good quality?

By 'electronic nature of dialing in tones' do you just mean that tweaking is via digital settings rather than knobs?

Quality is surprisingly good...the best I've heard other than my AD60VTX! :D Can get any tones I've wanted out of it!

The Thirty has a true stereo line out (because of stereo backing tracks available) even though the amp is mono. That, the size of the speaker plus the piezo tweeter and more power are the only differences between the Fifteen & Thirty. Unless you want to count a little bit of weight (not much).

Yes, there are no Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble controls to affect the amp models. There is a global Tone, which is very subtle & only affects the guitar, an overall volume and a band level which controls the level of any backing tracks you may choose to use. You have to go into the menus on the amp to change gain, bass, treble, middle (no Presence), and any effects or settings. Works easily, but not on the fly! If you want to adjust on the fly, it must be done through the FUSE software while connected to a computer, which has had mixed reviews due to some early bugs (fixed) and usability issues, some of which still need to be worked out.

Many of the 100 presets and backing tracks are VERY usable. Others, not so much! It works with any standard SD card up to 8GB, and comes with a disc that's now pretty much outdated as far as the software that's included. The video tutorials are helpful, but also dated. Updated software is readily available at Fender's website. The biggest oversight is a less than thorough manual. Once you read the online-only Advanced Manual, you get a better idea what this little tone monster can do and how to do it.

As I said, I love mine. They came out with the Mustang I & II amps for those who want actual controls on the amp, but maybe not so many amp models, presets or backing track availability. The Mustangs use the same modeling engine and feature higher wattage at a lower price point than the G-DECs. I wouldn't trade my G-DEC for a Mustang, but if the Valvetronix line wasn't around (thinking about a VT+ to back up my AD60VTX), I'd opt for the 40 watt model for gigging.
