There are such a wide variety of amps, guitars, pick-ups, and even variations in a particular artists tone, that it's often hard to help without a LOT more information - someone may have a great patch for a Strat, but it won't work with a Les Paul & so on. Also, someone may have the exact tone you're after but they don't recognise the artist or track.
If you just ask for a 'Stevie Vai' or 'SRV' tone, it really needs pinning down, because every artist has changed their tone during their career to one extent or another.
Finally, most folk have neither the time nor inclination to find a track that you're referring to. So make it easy for folk to help you by posting a link to an mp3 snippet (This will need to be hosted on an mp3 host site) unless you can link to a you-tube clip or similar.
So, perhaps the following 'blue-print' of useful info to supply might help gain more responses when requesting pre-sets: -
1. Your amp or Tonelab type (eg AD30VT, AD60VTX, TLSE, TLLE etc)
2. Your Guitar (eg American Standard Strat with maple neck)
3. Pick-ups (eg standard single coils, Texas specials, DiMarzio Humbucker at the bridge, etc)
4. Specific track with a link to an mp3 sample or you-tube clip
5. Whether your amp has an FX loop
6. What pedals you have
Re 5 & 6, the tone may need an external effect, particularly with the chromes & XL's.
Hopefully this will help give all you preset seekers out there more chance of getting a helpful response.
