Replacement Speaker for AD50VT?

Can anyone recommend a good replacement speaker for this model. I am looking to increase decibels and thus volume, while at the same time attaining excellent tone.

I hear a lot of diverging comments about this amp, some like it quite well and some don't like it at all. i am thinking that tastes vary, but also that a good speaker may launch all boats.

Decent enough amp. Speaker is a celestion seventy eighty which is a reasonable speaker. A speaker upgrade will improve most amps but what constitutes improvement varies from person to person. You might get better improvement by installing an fx loop and adding an eq stomp pedal.

Before dropping cash on a new speaker, I suggest stuffing the inside of the amp. I just tried this last night after reading this http://www.valvetronix.net/forums/unhappy-with-your-amp-s-sound-read-this-t3775.html and HOLY COW what a difference.

If you do decide to replace the speaker, I would stick with Celestion and go with a Vintage 30. Similar tone to what you already have but with more clarity and punch.

I like Eminence speakers, has anyone swapped a 12" Emi into an AD series amp?

Well it's the Celestion gold for me! Tried the Celestion 30 and Green back an Eminence Copper head. The gold takes the gold a perfect match with the right tube!!
