Hello Voxman and Nik - well, I finally went and bought the TLLE. Been wanting a Valvetronix for some time now (ad50, VTH, TLLE and lately watching with interest the new VT line). Couldn't be happier.
Traded in the DA5 that we had. Was a greater starter amp for my 12 yr old and would recommend it to anyone in the same boat.
Just so impressed with the tones you can get. Even the presets which seem to be disliked by most are pretty good. Maybe over the top on a couple but adjustable. But, the nuances, feel and response with some of the amps is got to be coming from that tube. Really shows when you're draggin you knuckles !
My son who's a hugemongous Rush fan has already programmed over a dozen patches for his Rush tunes in the 3 days he's had it meaning that it's quite simple to setup to your liking.
There are so many things I like about this unit but it still comes down to how neat it is to have 16 of the world's best amps all in one mobile box that can be married up with matching cabinets AND have a plethora of modelled pedals, modulations, delay and reverb units. How cool is that? And, for a fraction of the cost and fraction of the weight !!!
And, what I did was make a neat little binder not only for the Owner's Manual but I've been working on downloading images for each of the modelled amps, pedals and reverbs and putting Vox's coded names along with the piece's actual names and now when I or my son goes to play and/or is looking at the manual to read up on a particular amp, we have a picture of it to show us what exactly we're playing. Kind of silly maybe but all adds to the part that you're playing some very neat equipment.
Chow for now .....
