New VT15 owner and 1st time forumer

Postby eg1967 » 30 Jan 2012, 02:21

Hi guys,I am new to the forum and wanted to say hi and that I am the PROUD owner of a VT15.Here's my story:Finally had the money to get a new amp after years of owning a Marshall mg10cd which I know isn't that great but with a digitech rp50 got me through and did'nt sound to bad.So about 3 weeks ago I went to my local GC and with the intention of buying the Fender mustang 1 because I only had about $100 to spend.I have always wanted a vox but the only ones they had were out of my price range. When I went to buy the mustang they were out of stock so I tried the vypyr 15.Sounded pretty good but it stopped working a few times and was'nt crazy about the cheap cabinet.Took that back and exchanged it for the mustang.I had tried the mustang out before and it sounded pretty good but when I tried it with my guitar (2007 Hamer SATFW) It sounded horrible through the speaker especially with the high gain models.Cleans sounded pretty good.It sounded great through headphones but that's not what I bought it for.So finally they had a used vt15 for $79.Played it with my guitar and it was INCREDIBLE! It was like my guitar came alive. The best amp I have ever heard. The tones and dynamics are amazing.Built like a tank, top notch quality!I hope it lasts for a long time and if I ever need another amp it will be a vox as there is no better.Sorry for the long post but just wanted to share my story and excitement for my new amp.Hope to make some new friends here on the forum. Thanks EG

Welcome to the forum. It's a quiet place, but friendly.

Take some time to work through your new amp to get the best out of it. As others will confirm, they are not Plug and Play amps. You need to spend some time on each model to get the best out of it.

Enjoy!
