New VT series modification - schematic/service manual needed

Postby qwerty.pl » 03 Apr 2009, 11:24

Because I'm new on this forum, first of all i would like to say Hello! :D

I'm thinking of buying a new Vox VT50, and I want to do two simple modifications: add an Aux-In input for connecting external MP3 player and "FxLoop Mod" found on this forum, which is well described. Naturally I saw schematics of "old" series AD15/30/50VT.

Before that I need service manual or schematic of new VT series... Maybe it's too early for this request? Of course I know that modifications will break my warranty and I take all risk and responsibility for that.

Questions:
Does anyone have service manual or schematic of new VT series, and could send me?
Maybe someone know if new VT series has almost the same circuit/electronics inside like old AD..VT series? Maybe new features of VT series are done only in DSP section (exept of small changes: a few new controls, independed reverb, headphone out (without line out))

I send an email to VoxWebRequests@korgusa.com but they answered that "do not recommend or support modifications beyond their original intended design or function"
So, can anyone help?

Regards

Vox won't release service manuals for live production models I'm afraid.

Thanks for your reply, Rich.

What do you mean "live production models" - currently available in stores? I'm afraid it's my poor english  Do you mean that service manuals are only written for "old" production, I mean out of stock, not available?

Who is making service manuals of Vox product? - Korg USA? Should I ask them about circuit diagram of VT series? Or maybe any local Vox dealer/service support - especially here in Poland?

Service manuals for the VT series exist, but these are not available to the public. They are for use by Vox technicians only. By all means see if you can get one from Vox - & if you do, we'd love to have a copy that folk could download.
