New Tonelab User

Postby rlrlindsay » 22 Feb 2011, 12:12

Hello, I hope I am in the right forum, please tell me if not. I am a new Tonelab ST user and trying to come to grips with the software which seems to me to be very un user friendly. Can I seek some help with a couple of basic questions. Thanks.

1. When I connect the pedal via usb to librarian software under vista I can see patches from 0-49. Thats a good start. When I load either of the two extra files into the software, (extraprogram, or presetprogram) the window shows either of those two files taking up patches 50-99. Yet the manual states you cannot change presets 50-99. I am assuming that you cut and copy patches from 50-99 into a slot in patches 0-49. If so what happens if you don't want to copy all patches, when you go to transmit does the software overwrite the patches 50-99. Hope this question makes sense.

2. I have read where patches have been renamed e.g starting off at 00 with the title Little Wing. Is that just a renamed patch, or a different (new) patch.

3. I have read the info on st_lab0.3 and downloaded it with interest, but when I unzip it, all I see is a *.jar format file which on my computer is listed as a Nokia Installation Format. Now appreciating that this could be an association issue I searched for *.jar format and found it to be a java archive. I did not know where to go after that. I realise this may be the wrong forum for this question but am just giving it a try!

I hope this is not too much of a ramble and I would really appreciate any response and thanks for the opportunity to be able to ask.

As for #3, the file is an executable Java JAR. What that means is that in Windows, you can just double click it an it runs. Look around on the forums at voxamps.com for a program called St'edit. It's pretty nice too.
