New 'Technical Articles' forum-and an invitation to techies!

Postby Voxman » 12 Dec 2009, 12:04

Over the last few months we've had some outstanding technical contributions, not just on Valvetronix amps, but other gear related themes too such as guitar building & p/up phasing. I didn't want these to vanish into the ether as the posts got older, so I've set-up a brand new 'Technical Articles' forum-section to keep these for easy access & reference by members & visitors.

Similar to the FAQ section, only members of an 'expert user group', plus Administrators, can contribute/edit. They should still also be posted as 'normal posts' so you can comment/discuss there, as you won't be able to do this in the new TA section. This new section is simply to give a permanent home for genuine detailed technical stuff that is different to the type of info given in the FAQ section, i.e. it's article styled & technically detailed, & doesn't have to be Valvetronix specific eg rewiring guitars, pick-ups, guitar building, etc.

Membership of the group is by application and/or invitation only. Before contributions are made to this section, I'd just like to see them first - not 'cos I'd necessarily understand them (  ) but just to make sure they are of the right type of content & format to go into that section. Our first invited 'expert' who has accepted is Retrobob who has made some notable recent contributions, & it would be really great to get some other folk involved too - we've got some immense talent on the board.

I've already invited three other members but if you haven't had an invite and would like to join the group and make a contribution, please let me know by PM.

Anyway, there it is - hope you think it's a worthy addition to Valvetronix.net

Best to all

Rich
