I have a blues series AD120VT and AD120VTX. I'm using a Gibson Les Paul Custom.
I thought I'd pass this along for the Peter Frampton Fans....I've been working on "Do you feel like we do", live from Frampton comes alive album.
I use a Marshall Plexi Patch (UK70's). Rythmn Patch is set to taste with no OD at all ( I keep it so when my guitar volume knob is turned down, the tone becomes very clean. When turned up, it has some normal OD, but not a lot. Great for playing "regular non lead parts".
I added a touch of Tube OD ( level= 10 Oclock, Drive is at 1-2PM) and tape delay for leads and solos.
The combination of this amp model (UK70's) and a Les Paul Custom come so close to Peter's tone it makes me laugh. It's great because in reality, Peter uses LP Customs , Marshall and Fender Bassman amps in rig. Although taste and tone are subjective, I feel this combination is almost spot on.
The Marshall Plexi & Les Paul combo works so good with a lot of classic rock in general, just great tone.
Give it a try and tweek as you desire. Good luck.

Yup, the Plexi is one of my favourite models - both with and without some tube OD. There's an old clip of mine here with a LP Custom with the Plexi model: http://www.valvetronix.net/valvetronix/ ... s_502.htmlI love FCA - great album (IMHO one of the best live albums ever albeit it was a mix of different concerts) and some great guitar playing. But it's really tough to get his FCA tone (although some of his tone whe he was with Humble Pie eg at the Filmore was just his LP Custom through a 100w Marshall with both channels jumped!) & here's why (just see all the gear he uses!): http://www.frampton.com/equipment.htmlhttp://www.frampton.com/oldequipment2.htmlYou can't get the FCA tones with just a Valvetronix - & don't think I haven't tried! BTW - little bit of Frampton trivia - his 3 p/up Black LP was actually 2 p/up black beauty with the middle p/up added - it was given to him by Mark Mariano, who routed the middle p/up position.

LOL. ok. I have seen the vids with Peter and his sound guy who shows you his hold rig and all the effects - quite impressive. What really knocked me out that he also has a Fender bassman head in his rig which he says he used for his "cleans". No doubt an awesome set up. You can see a lot of these on YouTube. I also realize that tone is subjective and everyone has their likes, dislikes and opinions. Thats why I said to tweek to your own tatses and play around with it. I still think the dialed in "patch" that I'm using for this sounds so dam close it's funny. So, I am happy with it. S.
