well, I got 'er done. mine works fine and like TimC said, makes me wonder why I didn't sit down and do this before. I really like the LEDs. Haven't used it onstage yet, but I will this coming Saturday at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan... a really important gig for my songwriting group, The Yellow Room Gang.
I especially like the fact that the functions of the pedal are unchanged if you leave the power switch in the off position. Nice feature, Paragon. My girlfriend raised her eyebrows when I told her how much I paid for this small package of wires, circuit board and lamps. But I said, "The guy who designed and made this circuit board deserves to be supported. This thing is worth every penny he needs to make it worthwhile." To her credit, she got it. I have a great girlfriend, which is cool because I'm like 63. *grins... --guitars, man. guitars get the girl. you keep her by treatin' her right.
Anyway this is just a good word from a guy who was able to install this mod with rudimentary skill.
I didn't have any hot melt glue, so I used a small piece of stick on velcro to mount the mod to the stock circuit board. that'll do it (until summer comes and I play on a hot stage outside in the sun). what else... oh I went out and bought brand new drill bits to make the holes in the chassis. That's also very worth it. tap a starter hole with an awl after marking the spot to drill, put a drop of gun oil there and drill with a sharp new bit. old dull drillbits are a real drag on this job, take my word for it. even with new bits, I needed to chamfer the inside where the drill came through. I used a grinding stone chucked into my drill. that smoothed the metal enough to let me install the LEDs.
all in all, a very good experience so far. Thanks, Paragon.
