Thanks raven3d! After reading your review, I'm going to look into a JamVox again. Right now, I'm a little short on cash after picking up a ToneLab, but I also just took a second job, so I'll be able to look again soon.

It isn't real unless you feel it!

I have one and it was a great improvement from a Behringer USB guitar adapter running through Guitar Rig 3 on my laptop.

I like it because it runs off the USB bus on a computer, truly portable. I think I played for about one hour and only used up about 40 percent of my laptops battery. As stated before its only 1.75 watts, my friend playing an acoustic was louder, lol. Thats the price you pay for running power over the USB bus.

As a recording tool and a practice too I think it does well, does it do what the manufacturer claims "extracts the guitar from any MP3 and plugs you into the mix of their favorite bands.
Revolutionary Guitar XTracktion (GXT) technology lets you remove the guitar part of your favorite song with the push of a button." Not so much, and I think that is one of the biggest gripes.

I just recently bought a VT-30 and feel almost like the money I spent on the JamVox would have been better spent on the VT.

That being said I think I will still enjoy it for years to come, although I do wish the store had one setup for demo so I could have tried it out first.

I love my JamVOX. Since it seems to be a dead product, I got it cheap. $70 US from Guitar Center. Bargain of the century! I got lucky and it worked on my Win7 64Bit PC like a champ. Unfortunately it did not work on my wife's Sony i5 Win7 64Bit laptop. ??? I'm a computer professional for 20+ years and I could not make it work on that laptop no matter what I tried. Thankfully my desktop machine worked great right from the start and is still going strong 2 months later. I love it. The sound is as good as my VT40+ on headphones, maybe better. Certainly more effects, more effects control, more everything.
