Help with Setup for Tonelab LE and Randall RX120DH

Postby XcitR » 13 Nov 2010, 01:18

I need help with proper setup through a Randal RX120DH (solid state) full stack. I'm currently running the Tonelab LE through the effects loop, setting everything to "mid" on the amp, and using the Ln2 setting on the pedal, but I'm not truly happy with my sound. I'd like to get a good 80's rock (Marshall, etc.) tone, a la Bruce Kulick, Scotti Hill, John Sykes, etc. What would be the proper setup and a good starting point for overdrive pedal, chorus, delay, and so on? Should I run an overdrive pedal separately, inline from guitar to amp, or use the Vox overdrive. If completely using the Vox for effects, what pedal types and settings would be a good start? I'm open to suggestions.

Try running the TL in front, not through the loop.

If running through the front of the amp, should I use the Amp3 setting on the TL instead of the Ln2?
