Downloaded patch is .TLP extension

Postby pv5150 » 28 Dec 2011, 06:52

I downloaded a patch created by someone from the forum that is in a .TLP format. Tonelab Editor only opens .TLLE and .TLLP files. Have I done something wrong when I downloaded?

This is a Tonelab / Tonelab SE patch. There is a patch converter freeware available for this. Google "tonelab patch converter "

Thanks.....found the converter. I did find one thing odd though.....it splits the patch up into to separate patches (A/B) Dont understand why it does this. I was hoping to just assign it to one of the open banks and go with it. Im hoping the patch sounds as good as the vids/mp3's. Any explanations are welcome.

I believe the converter assumes you are using a TL SE, this is what it was designed for. The TL SE provides an A/B button for each patch, which permits to simultaneously switch several effects on/off at the same time within the same patch, thus avoiding the changeover time that you have on the TL SE / LE when changing patches. A lot of SE users love it. So that's why you get an A/B version of each patch....

If you want to copy a number of patches at the same time, I recommend copying them to an empty TLP file, deleting what you don't need and then moving the other patches to the desired solution. It sounds a bit cumbersome, but actually takes only a few minutes.

Good luck!
