Connecting Tonlab LE via Midi

Postby pv5150 » 06 Jan 2012, 04:05

Heres my issue....I connected the Tonelab LE with midi to USB cable. Sound editor sees it and shows it as an option on the Midi in/out connections. Once I click Ok i get this....... "MIDI communication error occured check the cables and midi interface" Any suggestions? Wondering if there is anything I'm supposed to do to the Tonelab LE in the menu before connecting. Also, when connecting the cables to the LE, should the cable that reads "in" go to the "in" connection on the LE and the "out" go to the "out"? I know it sounds dumb, but Im trying to eliminate all the reasons its not working yet.

ok so heres my solution that i posted on Voxamps.com

Ok....time for me to contribute......I bought a E-MU USB to MIDI interface cable and downloaded the drivers etc from their website. I am running it on a Windows 7 Pro and selected it in the drop down menu of the Tonelab Sound editor. It works fine for installing patches. It does take some playing with to load patches on to the LE from the computer, but practice makes perfect. Also......plug the input side of the cable to the output on the LE and the Output side of the cable to the input of the LE. I know it sounds stupid but it does make a difference. heres the link for the cable........
