Bought a Tonelab!!

Postby guitarj » 25 Jan 2008, 17:44

I found a previous demo model Tonelab for $140. I have owned a AD60VTH and VC12 for 2 years now, also, an AD15VT. Since I already had the VC12 to run it if needed, it was the perfect excuse to buy the new toy :D

Compared to my Pod 2.0, well there is no comparison. Along with a new Fast track recording interface, midiport, and my old Pioneer stereo amplifier, I have turned my computer into nice little sound studio. Now if I just had more time :?

I have found that being a MFX unit, I had to do some more tweeking, but it is a nice unit. I actully prefer some different models over others as compared to my Head, but it does achieve that nice warm tube driven tone that I have become familiar with.

With something like a Crate Powerblock, or powered moniter, it also could serve as a backup to my live rig.

Man that is one cheap Tonelab. Hope you enjoy it.
I have often thought it would be nice to have one but here they are expensive even used and I dont do any recording so I couldn't justify having a zillion patches to choose from.

Thanks. I made my first recording a while back with it, so I cant say much for my experience there. It was kind of a luxury purchase, but I dont regret it at all.... and I do think I can make some decent recordings with it, even if it is for a hobby only.

I picked some Sennheiser headphones and all I can say is wow...... I dont think I will ever have to bring the amp home, and the AD15 is going to collect dust a lot more.
