Blues Harmonica thru Vox AD50vt

Postby krump » 03 Feb 2011, 17:18

I have been doing some blues harmonica, and wondering if anyone has any ideas about putting the Harmonica thru the AD50vt amp. I know there are lots of blues amps out there, but i can get a good deal on this amp, and wonder what you all think of this idea??? Is the amp capable of putting out some real cheesy tone with a blues mic to it??

It shouldn't be a problem to use an amp like this for a harp, it typically depends on what type of mic you have and if you're using any rack as well. Live is live!

I play harmonica through a AD100VT-XL and Green Bullet mic, it sounds good. I use the clean channel with reverb for the pure harp sounds and use busssaw with reverb when I want to dirty the sound up. I gig regularly with a band playing old stones to foo fighters and they are cool with the tone from the amp. I have messed around with flanger and delay effects but have not put them into any songs yet. I feel these effects will allow the harp to fit better in songs like "Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. I need a dirtier sound and more liked to a keyboard or synthesizer. In summary - go for it and see what sounds you get, I am taking the VT to a blues jam this weekend and will see how it goes over there but am condfident that it will hold its own. It will definitely have the punch. :)
