Anticipated Successor to TLLE?

Postby CoachP7 » 19 Nov 2008, 14:22

Hello Voxman

With the new VT line out and more models to follow, any word or hint of a successor to the Tonelab LE?

Or, do you think it will be around for another couple of years?

Don't know - nothing in the pipeline as far as I know & the TLLE is still fairly new. But then Vox wouldn't give away anything anyway.

We are less than a month away from Winter NAMM. I was very anticipant until they pulled the plug on their Black Diamond amp. Now I don't know. BTW, I just picked up a TLLE and can't wait to get home to A/B it against my TLSE. :D

Hey Firebrand,

Let me know the results of your AB test. I have an SE, and I would be interested in what you think SE to LE.

Thanks!

just tried LE but I did not buy it.

Though the amp and effect simulation is superb, the effects arrangement is not versatile as compared to Boss GT 10 and POD X3 Live. Maybe I just need to wait for LE's successor.

Hope VOX will be able to read my suggestion.
1. More amp simulation (of course who wouldn't want this).
2. Add mic and pickup simulation
3. Versatile effects combination and arrangement (read: adapt and improve how X3 live and GT 10 works.) BUT should still be tweaked easily. I hate tweaking. hahaha.
4. Add USB for desktop PC recording, retain MIDI and SPDIF outputs.
5. Make the software upgradeable (like those of POD)
6. have an easy switch for turning on/off the amp and cab model so effects can be used alone.
7. Target gigging/ professional musicians and home recording enthusiasts.

I am not dissing LE. Just want to make suggestions. I still believe Vox still reign on digital amp/ effect modeling as compared to POD and Boss (though haven't tried yet TCE G Force, AXE FX etc etc.)

I have had various Roland/Bopss modellers and they do have a far more versatile and wide ranging FX implementation.
The annoying thing is, the Tonelabs just sound (and feel) so much better.

Tonelab and VC-4, direct to PA.

^^ but boss gt 10 is also getting nearer to their models specifically the dirt channels. but for the clean channels... still tonelab. and yeah, i love cleans. :D

like also to add that the small tube on tonelab really works wonders. Now, if POD and Boss will put a small tube to serve as buffer, i think they can then create a "breathing" tube sound like that on tonelab and they can surely beat tonelab.
