AD60VT with low volume output

Postby sweetp » 20 Nov 2011, 20:01

My AD60VT has definitely dropped in the volume output department. 60watts used to be quite loud, now I'm having to use a outboard preamp between guitar and amp to get enough stage volume. This amp has been serviced and had all jacks replaced and I regularly use a bit of contact cleaner on those likely sockets. I seem to be getting consistent sound, just low in volume. In fact I'm not sure there is any jump in volume when going from 30watt to 60watt. Thoughts?

I hear what you say but it still sounds like the jack sockets. Clean them all thoroughly especially the FX loop & headphone sockets which are switching type (not sure, but the line out might be too) & could be sticking. And yes, 30w to 60w should up the volume noticeably.

Also, try an amp reset just in case its a software filepath issue.

It may be a bad contact in the power selector switch.

Hi. I haven't used mine for six months or more, and now I find it's gone all quiet. Everything seems to light up okay , effects etc seem to be working, but the power selection makes very little difference, and it's all down at about 1 watt.

Any solution?

Also try spraying contact cleaner into the power selection switch. It may be that the contacts there are causing the issue.

Not impossible, but most unlikely. It's far mote likely to be the jack sockets (especially switchable ones such as the headphone, FX loop etc) that have oxidised/ got stuck

If it was totally dead I'd agree, but he says it's putting out some sound. I've never had the jacks cause lower output, except where one side was not firing on my stereo head.
